Academic Coordinator

Jenny GageJenny Gage is the Motivate Academic Co-ordinator. Any issues to do with our programme, project material, maths days and courses, or our website should be discussed with her. Contact her on:

Between September 1986 and December 2000, Jenny taught mathematics (KS3, KS4 and A level Maths and Further Maths) in three state schools. Then in January 2001, Jenny became Academic Coordinator of the Motivate Project, part of the Millennium Mathematics Project which is based in the Mathematics and Education Faculties of the University of Cambridge.  In addition to organising all our mathematical and scientific videoconferences for school students (ages 5-18), and providing follow-up project work and supporting materials, Jenny also presents some conferences. She has a particular interest in finding the maths that underlies everything around us, linking maths with everyday life and with other curriculum areas.

Jenny has published research papers on using VC in an educational context, and has contributed to research undertaken for the Department for Children, Schools and Families.  Jenny has also written two books on using an interactive whiteboard in primary and in secondary teaching which are published by Fulton Academic Publishers.

Outside work, her chief interests are singing in a choir and reading (especially detective novels and thrillers).
